The Village of Pleasant Prairie in Kenosha County, Wisconsin is bordered by Lake Michigan on the East, Interstate 94 on the West, the Illinois/Wisconsin State Line on the South and the City of Kenosha City Limits on the North. This location is ideal due to its convenience to a multitude of recreational and employment opportunities as well as its convenience to the urban centers of Milwaukee, Chicago, Racine and Burlington. The Village was founded in the 1840’s and has a rich history including the devastating explosion of a major gun powder company in 1875. Pleasant Prairie was also known as Tar Corners for the second half of the 1800s due to the tarring and feathering of a thief apprehended in the community.
